The Paris-Longchamp racecourse gets a new look with a new architectural gem
Dominique Perrault has succeeded in the metamorphosis of this historic site.
After 2 years of work, the internationally renowned Parisian racecourses will once again be able to welcome the public from 29 April 2018. It is therefore 160 years after its first inauguration that the historic Paris-Longchamp building is changing its appearance and being modernised under the project management of France Galop. The restoration of the infrastructure was supervised by Bouygues Construction.
The architect Dominique Perrault (DPA) wanted to “make the building disappear into the landscape, while multiplying the views”. To achieve this, we proposed our SABCO glass railing solution, which provides a 180-degree view of the track and offers a whole new experience for racing enthusiasts.
Our glass railing, the SABCO 7019, is tested and validated for resistances from 5.1 to 10KN. This product was developed for stadium stands to guarantee the safety of visitors in crowded areas such as here for the racetrack stands.
This project required 2 600ml of SABCO railing.
