In 2014, Dunkerque Urban Community has launched a wide-ranging program to enhance the municipality’s seaside resorts. This area was facing a high risk of marine submersion due to climate change.
To remedy this, protective infrastructures have been put in place to protect the waterfront and make it pleasant and fun, facilitating entertainment and commercial activity.
Top-of-the-range materials were chosen, in the spirit of those used on the Alliés embankment: wood, glass, sculpted natural stone, large-scale paving and concrete.
