Located in the heart of the Gerland District, the EKLAA Tower established itself in this dynamic district of Lyon in 2021. Designed by AFAA Architecture, it encompasses nearly 113,000 square meters of office space. The project was conceived to address the new challenges of eco-design: openness, brightness, and the environment.
Sadev’s role :
Focused more on security, with the development of specific components that meet the technical criteria of fire doors. In this specific case, the fire doors are complex sliding structures validated under ATEX (justified with calculations).
The challenges were diverse:
Discreet fastening systems, significant height (3.5 meters), all while meeting specific safety criteria (deformation, anti-hinging, constraints on the glass, constraints on the guiding rails, and on the glass fastening systems). The development of the Strong XL aimed to ensure/facilitate firefighter access in all circumstances with a discreet system that integrates with the building’s architecture and its distinctive double-skin glazing.
